TWF Goals and Activities: 
Provide regional leadership and support for cooperative efforts with lake associations and community partners
· Seek and obtain grants and donations
· Coordinate the Watershed Leadership Group
· Monitor and participate in the development of local,
state, and federal policies
· Foster partnerships
· Provide 501(c)(3) tax-deductible status for donations
Implement water quality improvement projects to reduce sediments, nutrients,
and bacteria
· Restoring and preserving streambanks, prairies, and wetlands
· Installing grassed waterways, filter strips, and sediment traps
· Fencing livestock out of waterways
· Planting trees and installing rain gardens
Promote responsible stewardship of our land and water resources
· Provide education on critical issues: septic maintenance, wetlands, invasive species, mussels,
shoreline preservation, phosphorus-free fertilizers, erosion control, and aquatic plant management
· Communicate with partners and residents via newsletters, website, email, videos, presentations,
and exhibits
· Coordinate watershed tours
Empower individuals to get involved
· Coordinate lake and community cleanup events
· Volunteer water quality monitoring
· Committees include: public relations, fundraising, legislative, and watershed management
